Community Media Workshop (CMW)

Community Media Workshop also continues its mission and reach by providing a range of online blogs and communications platforms for nonprofit communicators and journalists. Journalists looking for more inside resources and story ideas can now subscribe to the Newstips blog as well as from our traditional Newstips.

Community Media Workshop also trains people working on problems to tell their stories to the media, tips sensitive journalists to the importance of these stories, and tries to create better relationships between the media and the diverse communities which make up Chicago and the Midwest.

Chicago Jobs Council (CJC)

Chicago Jobs Council works with its members to ensure access to employment and career advancement opportunities for people living in poverty. The organization focuses on providing information and assistance in workforce and economic development, education, skills training, job readiness and placement, safety net/work supports, and barriers to employment. Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP)

CMAPMetropolitan Chicago will have an additional 2.8 million residents and 1.8 million jobs by 2040, and CMAP is leading the GO TO 2040 planning campaign to develop and implement strategies for addressing this growth’s serious implications on quality of life — including transportation, housing, economic development, open space, the environment, and natural resources. Evanston Community Foundation

The Evanston Community Foundation is an organization of neighbors for neighbors. We look at Evanston as a distinctive hub for the North Shore of Chicago.

The foundation is engaged in a long-term major initiative called Communityworks that aims to identify community priorities in the areas of early childhood care and education, workforce training and development, and land use and protection, provide new grant funds in these areas, and evaluate community progress towards objectives. Illinois ResourceNet works with the Foundation to co-sponsor workshops in the area of Evanston. llinois ResourceNet: A Funding Access Initiative (IRN) held a regional conference at the Ramada Inn, Moline, IL on April 28th, 2011. The event, titled: Collaboration for Collective Impact, focused on collaboration – working locally and countrywide to create functioning networks of community organizations and local units of government that provide services and produce quality grant submissions. It was offered by University of Illinois Extension, Rock Island County with endorsement from the Quad Cities  Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
